Our Vision

Learn about our vision for this community, and how you can be involved in its creation!

Privacy + Community

In line with Washington’s condominium laws, we have resolved to build townhouse structures, potentially in duplex, triplex, or larger groupings, around a common house.

Sustainability

We will strive to reduce our collective carbon footprint through energy and materials savings, and other green features to be chosen collectively once our budget solidifies.

Accessibility

We will also promote accessibility, including planning some first level units, ramps, hand rails, and other accessibility features in the common areas. Planning on aging in place makes this a consideration for us all.

Where do you see yourself in a few years from now...

We will be a diverse, multi-generational cohousing community located in a suburban setting in Snohomish County, WA. We will design our community together to include private homes, a common house, studios/workshops and outdoor spaces, decorative, edible, native landscaping and extensive gardens, and recreation areas for all ages. We are committed to creating a supportive and enriching community that fosters connection with each other and the larger community.
We will embrace opportunities to work and play together. We will host regular common meals, community celebrations and social gatherings. We will support each other through life’s challenges and joys and will work together to care for our land and shared facilities. We have agreed on shared governance and open dialogue. Using the state of Washington’s established condominium laws as guidance, we aspire to create a cohousing community for all of us.

Mission Statement

To create an intentionally designed community of sustainably built homes where households are good neighbors and conscientious environmental stewards. Living in close proximity and sharing resources, we increase quality of life by caring for one another, celebrating together, reducing consumption, decreasing our impact on the environment, and to be neighborly in the best sense of the word, with each other and the wider community.

Where We're At...

We began general outreach and education in Spring 2017 and started meeting monthly in July 2017 to move toward establishing a multi-generational cohousing community within 4-5 years. We are planning to build a neighborhood of 30-35 households. We have been looking at potential sites, and are welcoming potential new members to turn the vision into a working design for living. Contact us today if you're interested in joining the community!

Snohomish County provides a good mix of being a commutable location to Seattle, Everett and Bellevue, and proximity to the natural and recreational features of the Puget Sound and the Cascade Mountains.
Expansion of the Paine Field Airport in Mukilteo will make air travel more convenient for passengers, and the expansion of the airport will be a boon to local economies. Click here to learn more.
Everett and Marysville particularly have new master plans that call not only for increasing the density of housing, but mention cottage and clustered development specifically as  desirable options for achieving it. Arlington has adopted 'form based zoning,' a technique for achieving walkable communities.
